Children and Family have been awarded three new contracts to operate children’s homes on behalf of Local Authorities in the East of England.
The new properties are all Local Authority owned buildings refurbished to provide solo and dual placements for children with complex and challenging needs. Under the terms of the contracts, the Local Authority provides and refurbishes the property with CF building a staff team and securing OFSTED registration prior to operating the home over a five to seven year term.
Two of the properties, a caretaker’s house adjacent to a school and a farmhouse on County Council owned land, were both sourced from the Local Authority’s redundant property register, utilising existing properties to increase sufficiency and reduce out of county placements. The third home is being leased directly by the Council from a private landlord.
All three contracts demonstrate further success for CF’s Local Authority Partnerships initiative which aims to blend the best of public and private provision and address the shortage of places for children with complex and challenging needs.
